Tioga Suites Hotel=Chanute

Has anyone stayed here , eaten in the hotel dining room or tried their beer? I have to be in Chanute and it sounds like an interesting place for a small town.

I would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant (Safari Grill) for a nice getaway. The food is tasty and plentiful, with much more variety than expected for a small town. Their on-site brewery turns out a wide range of beer. You should be able to find something that appeals to you. There is a formal dining room, but we sat in a different area that was more like a sports bar. It was fun but a little too dark for us to see the food and each other. We asked for a candle, but they said they didn%26#39;t have any. The service was fine otherwise, though.

The decor of the hotel and restaurant is very retro and adds to the fun. You can see photos of the suites on their website. It is very nice for the price. We had a separate sitting room, three closets, a small bathroom, microwave, refrigerator, and a very comfortable bed. It was a little too warm in the bedroom on a very hot day. There was a window air conditioner in the sitting room that didn%26#39;t quite make the bedroom cool enough for us. It wasn%26#39;t too bad, though.

Personally, I don%26#39;t mind putting up with a few glitches to enjoy the small town, going-back-in-time ambience you can find in Kansas. The nearby Safari Museum is not very big, but still interesting and unusual. Everyone we met was friendly, and we went back home feeling relaxed and happy.

KSsunshine-----Thanks for the reply. This is what I was hoping to hear and looking forward to staying there.

They were sited on Saturday evening, 11/4 for selling liquor to minors. I found the food to be greasy at times as I travel thru the area 2x a week. The service can be good at times and very bad at other times. The casual side of dining can be rather noisy when they all come in to drink and is too dark for me. I have never stayed overnight in the hotel but rumors have it that many things go on in the overnight hours.
