What are some stand out restaurants in KC. Something not super commercial. Good Food, Drinks, Vibe. I love all kinds of food so type of cusine doesn%26#39;t mattter. Just looking for something to make me go wow!
Places to EatOther than chains, the option in Kansas City, Kansas are pretty limited. Were you also considering Johnson County and/or Kansas City, MO?
Places to EatI%26#39;m talking about Johnson County, Overland Park, Olathe...I%26#39;m not afraid to drive a little for good food!
CC%26#39;s City Broiler on 151st Street near Metcalf. The best steak in Kansas City, good service, fine dining atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. Open for dinner only.
Other possibilities:
Garozzo%26#39;s Ristorante on College or the new one in Olathe. Italian food in the style of The Hill in St. Louis.
KC Grill and Kabob on 87th in Lenexa. Not fancy but friendly, with good Persian food.
Ruchi at College and Antioch. Inconsistent service, but the Indian food is as good as I have had in London..
Chung%26#39;s Rainbow Restaurant at Metcalf %26amp; 103. Very good Korean food in a small store front. Not to be confused with Choga Korean Restaurant, a couple of blocks away.
CC%26#39;s City Broiler is now at the top of my list, too. After 50 years I have finally found the most mouthwatering fillet I have ever had! And to think it is right in our hometown! Everything was exceptional.....salad, jalapeno baked-potatoes, onion rings, server, and the presentation. My husband%26#39;s business sends him all over the country/world where he has the fortunate opportunity to dine at top-rated restaurants regularly, and he was equally impressed. This restaurant is sure to wow anyone!
try jess and jims for a great steak.
You have to get BBQ if you come to KC I suggest Oklahoma Joes, Famous Daves or Jack Stacks.
South-
Bristol (leawood) for seafood
Cassis (leawood) American/French
40 Sardines (leawood) Fresh American
MelBee%26#39;s Bar %26amp; Restaurant (mission) American
KCK-
Felitza%26#39;s (KCK/Strawberry Hill) Southern Italian
Yard House (Ledgends/KCK)
All are independent places except Yardhouse. If you are going to Kansas City, Missouri let me know. I have a lot of suggestions for downton/plaza/midtown. I have been almost everywhere and you will love all the above! I am not big on chains, although there are a few I stick by and not everyone needs to eat BBQ just because they are in KC.
There%26#39;s an excellent website that lists locally-owned and locally-operated restaurants, some outstanding and some a bit less so. It%26#39;s www.kcoriginals.com. They give you links to the individual restaurants, and they also offer periodic on-line coupon discounts to even the top-rated restaurants.
