My family and I went to a reunion in Dodge this August and prior to our early flight home we stayed one night at the Four Points Sheraton to be near the airport. The choice of this hotel was a big mistake. Upon arrival my family was almost run over by unruly, drunken teenagers(or slightly older) in baseball uniforms who were running through the hallway. The yelling and laughing was so loud that once in our room we had to turn up the television to drown out the disturbance. My husband went down to the lobby to use the internet to check on our flight information but was unable to due to another group of kids monopolizing the entire computer room. When returning to our room he witnessed a situation in which another group of males crashed a wedding reception that was taking place in the hotel and were insulting wedding guests. The management at the hotel seemed very intimidated by these malesand did nothing to curtail their repulsive behavior. My husband was so disqusted by this point that he wanted to leave. We only had a few hours there due to the early flight so we opted to stay. The condition of the room was very poor due to a disgusting smell coming from the air-conditioner and not-so clean bathroom. The room was extremely narrow and the two double beds just about took up the entire room. Fortunately for us we were so tired from our three hour ride from Dodge City that we were willing to deal with the smell my husband described as a ';dead body';. There are other hotels near the airport, please don%26#39;t stay here!
Don't Stay Here!!!
It appears as though you had the misfortune to be there at the same time as some of the baseball teams. The National Baseball Congress has a tournament in Wichita every year in August. Most of the players are of college age and seem to act accordingly. There are several hundred who descend on Wichita yearly.
At least the train that used to run behind the motel is gone. That used to blast you out of bed at rather inopportune times. Sorry for your bad experience.
Don't Stay Here!!!
I stayed at the same hotel on a quieter night in October and enjoyed the experience. I booked via priceline for $35 a night, which I thought was a bargain for the overall quality of the hotel....This is certainly not a five star establishment, but the bed was clean and didn%26#39;t squeek much...the free coffee in the lobby was hot.....and their were no baseball teams monopolizing the computers!
Sorry for your bad experience.
I stay at this hotel a lot due to being a Starwood Guest member and the stays count towards my membership. I%26#39;ve stayed many many times over the past few years....ever since it became a Four Points.
I am sorry for your unpleasant experience during your stay. I must add, that I have never encountered the type of problems there that you mentioned. I am sure that this was just an isolated occurance.
Overall, this is a pretty nice place to stay. The beds are very comfortable and if you happen to get one of their suites, the rooms are very roomy.
This isn%26#39;t to say that I have never experienced any problems at this hotel, but that can happen anywhere. They have lovely grounds during the summer. It is nice to sit around the pool or outside your room if it has access.
If I want to treat the Grandkids to a pool during the winter I will stay where there is an inside pool...otherwise, this is my place.
Give them another chance and I%26#39;m sure you will be happy with it.
