Hotel near Cessna Stadium

Can anyone suggest a clean and reasonable hotel/motel with easy access to Cessna Stadium? Within walking distance would be great, or somplace with transportation service. Thanks.

Hawk,----There is nothing within walking distance. There are some reasonably priced motels on East Kellogg(Wichita Inn, Super 8) these are about 5 miles away but I doubt if they have transportation available. The other choices would be Holiday Inn and a Marriott. There is plenty of parking if you are there when WSU classes are not in session. Driving would be no problem as the traffic here is not congested except as rush hour..

As mentioned above, there are no hotels within walking distance, but Cessna stadium is on the Wichita State campus so there will plenty of parking for the Rolling Stones concert on October 2nd.

The closest [4 miles east / 1mile north of the sadium], nicest hotels would be these Marriott properties:

Courtyard Wichita East @ 2975 North Webb Road

TownePlace Suites Wichita East @ 9444 East 29th Street North

These hotels are across from each other at 29th St. and Webb Road. Highway K-96 crosses above this intersection. From KC it would be a 4-lane highway all the way on I-35 to Turnpike exit K-96 and 6 miles to the northwest on K-96 to these hotels.

There are also several nice hotels in the area of Webb Road and US 54/400 that are probably 5 or 6 miles from the stadium. There is a Marriott, a Fairfiled Inn, and a couple other hotels there also. I suspect the Rolling Stones will be staying in this Marriott of the Hyatt Regency in downtown Wichita when they are here if they stay in town. It shouldn%26#39;t be to bad a drive to these hotels once you get a way from the stadium.

Thanks for the info. What about the Hilton Garden Inn at 2041 North Bradley Fair Pkwy? It looks to be closer and its rated the #2 hotel on this web site.

Thanks everybody. I%26#39;ve made my reservations, but if anyone has anything to add please do. I can always cancel and rebook at a different place. Now, if I can only get tickets...! LOL

Thanks for pointing that out. The room cost went downa full $50, apparently since its now a week-end and not a week-day reservation. They%26#39;ll also give me the AAA discount now. Go figure. I%26#39;m keeping both reservations until I actually get my tickets. Then I%26#39;ll concel the unnecessary one. LOL.
