Cessna Stadium Parking

Thanks everyone for your previous help in finding a room. Now I just have to get to the concert. On the Ticketmaster site it says ';Parking on and around campus will be limited so ticket holders are encouraged to utilize our shuttle service.'; On the map it looks like it will be harder for me to get to the shuttle than to get to the stadium. However, I don%26#39;t want to have to walk too far (I%26#39;m an old guy). For those of you in the know, will parking really be as limited as they seem to want us to think? I think I recall a previous post that indicates that stadium parking should be plentiful. Any thoughts?

Hawk, Where is it you catch the shuttle? Parking at Wichita State is usually difficult when classes are in session. We go to the basketball games and have to walk about 10 minutes and that is when there are only 10,000 people at the game. There are supposed to be 40,000 for the Stones. My advice would be to take the shuttle . Getting in may not be too much of a problem but getting out could be hell.

Parking will be a nightmare unless you get there really early and if you do get close in parking it will probably take forever to get away. I would utilize the shuttle if at all possible.

Thanks for the advice. And, as best I can tell, there are no hotels within walking distance to the shuttle pick-up points. I guess I%26#39;ll just have to wait and do the best I can at the time. I do appreciate the ';inside'; info.

If it was me, I would try to get a hotel room on the east side of Wichita such as the Hilton Garden Inn or one of the hotels on east 29th street or north Webb Road. If you do end up utilizing the shuttles it would (should) be an easy drive from the parking areas, to the above hotels.

Cheers!

Joining the conversation a bit late, but wanted to also recommend using the shuttle. The area around WSU%26#39;s campus isn%26#39;t the best. Odds are you%26#39;ll have to park a ways away from the stadium %26amp; I wouldn%26#39;t want to walk back to my parked car after the concert late at night. Assuming you made it back to your vehicle without incident, you not find it in as good a shape as you left it, if you know what I%26#39;m saying. The shuttle is definitely your best option.

Not too late until after I leave for Wichita. LOL I think I%26#39;m pretty well convinced to use the shuttle. I%26#39;ve been reading in some chat rooms that they may cancel the concert due to lackluster ticket sales. Say it ain%26#39;t so!

how about a tailgate party/....will we be cooking steaks in a parking lot by the stadium?....what time does the parking lot open?...thanks

Here is a policy concerning WSU%26#39;s policy on tailgating:
